Week after week I constantly read up on the latest fitness news and trends. I read a lot about stars doing yoga to stay in shape. Madonna, Jennifer Anniston, the list goes on and on and on…But yesterday I tuned into a conversation with a former pro athlete who does it.
I was at a friend’s home talking with his daughter about yoga. Another couple there was also practicing. and my husband was having a conversation with an ex NHL player.
Many pro athletes are practicing yoga. Yoga helps facilitate deeper stretching and injury prevention, it also reduces stress and tension. Football, hockey, bodybuilding athletes all use this system to restore health to every muscle joint and organ of the body. As a bodybuilder myself, I can tell you yoga rounds out my program, helps to improve circulation and will help anyone toward general healthiness.
So…you may want to expand your horizons and give it a try!
Here are some fast facts about yoga:

The most popular form of yoga is Bikram Yoga, and it has been around for centuries.

Bikram Yoga classes run exactly 90 minutes and consist of a set of series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The class is ideally practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees F with a humidity of 40%, thus given the more descriptive name of “Hot Yoga”.

A popular maker of athletic wear designed with yoga in mind has a pair of pants with a fit description of, will fit “Hockey But”, Love that!
